Steve Auerbach managed, performed, composed and produced music with and for world-renowned recording artists and producers in Los Angeles and Utah.  Steve developed  five western USA branches of the start-up, School of Rock from 2005-2008 until the company was sold.  Steve's goals for students are simple: happiness, musical and personal development.  Steve believes that giving young musicians a safe, fun and productive place to belong to a like-minded youth community encourages growth of music and life skills for a lifetime.  More about   Steve here.

STEVE AUERBACH

Terence Hansen served MusicGarage.Org as our founding Music Director and worked with Steve, Ben and Alex at School of Rock.   Terence has been performing his compositions, standards, and classics to audiences in the USA and Europe using tapping technique on two guitars simultaneously (while singing). Terence has shared the stage with Robert Palmer, Keith Urban, Jennifer Batten, Gary Hoey, Neil Zaza, Bumblefoot, as well as headlining festivals in Germany, Holland and England.  Learn more about Terence  here.

TERENCE HANSEN

June Crosby studied at Music Conservatory in Zurich Switzerland and trained in both the Suzuki method and the Mark O’Connor method.  June has performed with symphony orchestras and string bands performing Classical, Bluegrass, Old Timey, Irish, Cowboy, Swing, and Scandinavian music. She has travelled around the world sharing and learning music from many cultures. June loves teaching!

JUNE CROSBY

Grant has been performing since childhood and is currently performing with the classic rock  band,  Shuffle in addition to  the original progressive rock band,  Advent Horizon.  Grant's biggest strength is  as a   front-man and entertainer including; singing, rapping and playing guitar. As a songwriter, he incorporates elements  of hip hop, rock, and pop into his music.

Kim Nolan received her Masters Degree in Opera Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York after completing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Western Connecticut State University. Kim participated in the Spoleto Arts Symposium's Solo Performances & Masterclasses in Spoleto, Italy in addition to Summer Vocal Institute at the University of California, Santa Barbara CA. Kim has taught classes and lessons in rock, pop, blues, jazz,    recording studio, jazz ensemble and vocal performance.

Joe Chisholm received his bachelor's degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Utah in 2003 and holds a master's degree in Jazz Studies. Joe works professionally in the greater Salt Lake area as a performer and educator.

Julian Moon's sublime, pop-craft is infectious and fun.  Julian is an accomplished singer-songwriter who's 2015 Warner Brother's release, Good Girl and her 2018 independent release, Pomegranate Seeds are a favorites at musicgarage.org.  Julian has a sublime ability to relate to others and help them find their creative voice.  Learn more about Julian here.

JULIAN MOON

Chris started his musical journey with piano lessons, then drumset.  Chris holds an Associates of Arts from Snow College in jazz, drum-set and a Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music in Electronic Production and Design. It was though the electronic production program at Berklee that Chris discovered a passion for music production, electronic music, synthesis, sound design, and music technology. He loves working with music technology and creating new systems for musical expression using hardware and software controllers.

Erica studied jazz guitar at Westminster College and  is an active supporter, volunteer and  performer in SLC's music community.     Erica has been playing guitar for 35 years with a love and passion for classic Blues Rock and Roll and traditional Blues history. Erica's biggest strength is her passion to see her students succeed and overcome obstacles to learning to reach their potential on-stage and in-life.

Aidan Woodward is an active jazz, bluegrass, rock, pop and funk bassist who received his degree from the jazz program at Snow College.

Emma studied rock music with Terence Hansen and Steve Auerbach when she was a student in the MusicGarage program with them.  During that time, Emma performed at scores of area venues and festivals.  Emma has played in several area rock bands as an adult now and wants to share her skills and passion for rock guitar by inspiring students to grow to become great musicians.

Sam Cottrell   studied Guitar Performance at Utah State University  and then attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science in  Tempe, AZ where he received  a    Masters in    Recording.  Sam currently performs with the band, Toast - a Bread tribute band as well as the Irish rock band, Swagger.    Sam has taught for Blue Fret Music in Kaysville, UT, Discount Music in Bountiful, UT and with Steve and Terence at  School of Rock.

Patrick's musical influences started in New Orleans and his skills grew with experience in live performances.  Improvisation with synthesizers and Fender Rhodes piano's give a creative edge to his sound.  Patrick has hosted a blues jam in Salt Lake City and has mentored students in the Utah wilderness. Patrick has a passion for mentoring others and offers a uniquely focused teaching style that caters to each individual student, encouraging creativity and goal setting!

Matt Starling is an award-winning musician, composer and producer who has worked in music education since 2002 at Utah Valley State College, East High School, East Hollywood High School and Salt Lake Community College.    Matt loves teaching, music and arts technology, sound recording, MIDI, digital audio, music production, sound design, contemporary music, electronic music, computer assisted music performance, multimedia, music composition, chamber ensemble performance, and brass performance.
